Tammy's Story

When I first came to the Stephen Center, I was full of fear, guilt and anxiety. I was quiet and kept to myself. In the last seven months, I have worked through my fears. With the help of my counselor, I learned to face those fears and work through them. Because I had the courage to face my fears, I have become a more open person with higher self esteem.

I continue to work on developing tools to help me stay sober. On January 21st, I will have a year of sobriety and I couldn’t have done it without God, Alcoholics Anonymous, my sponsor, my peers, my mom, my two daughters and my counselor at the Stephen Center. I have a great job and I’m excited to see myself continue to grow in sobriety day by day.
