THANKSGIVING ON THE MAYFLOWER CELEBRATION
Omaha, NE – November 20, 2009
Mayflower Transit / Select Van & Storage is sponsoring Thanksgiving on the Mayflower at the Stephen Center Emergency Shelter, 2723 Q St. on Thanksgiving Day. Guests of the shelter will be served a turkey dinner with all the trimmings on board a Mayflower moving van. The guests will also be able to enjoy the parades and football games on a television set up in the moving van.
Scott Riha, Corporate Sales and Marketing, stated that this is an opportunity for his company to give back to the community that they serve. “This is the third year that we will host this event. The shelter guests enjoy the festive atmosphere and we wanted to support the Stephen Center and their guests again this year.” The moving van will be parked in front of the Stephen Center and shelter guests are welcome at anytime during the day. Thanksgiving dinner will be served between 11:00 am and 1:00pm.
Executive Director, Del Bomberger stated “This is a wonderful event for our guests. We have been experiencing a dramatic increase in demand for services, particularly women and children, in the Omaha area. We need to make sure that everyone has a safe, warm place to stay this holiday season. We also want them to have a happy holiday season.” Additional seating and meals will be served inside the shelter.
