Holiday Event Builds Buddies for Homeless Children
December 19 2006 – Omaha, NE Children in the various programs at the Stephen Center will have the opportunity to build a buddy Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 7pm thanks to the generosity of Kim Aberg and Varsity Fundraising. Kim will be visiting the Stephen Center and allowing the children in the program to stuff their own collectible animals through Animaland.
“This is an opportunity for homeless children to enjoy the Holidays, take their minds off their troubles and be as happy as any kid on the block,” says Del Bomberger, Executive Director, “It is a joyous occasion for which we are grateful.”
Kim Aberg says, “this is a great way to get involved in the community and do it in a unique way that is fun for myself and the children.”

The Stephen Center was opened in 1984 as a safe and clean facility to serve men and women who have made a commitment not to use drugs and/or alcohol in order to improve the quality of their lives. In the 22 year history The Stephen Center has provided overnight shelter to men, women and children, recovery and mental health programs for individuals with a co-occurring diagnosis, transitional housing for HERO program graduates and case management to emergency shelter clients. The Stephen Center encourages the public to contribute nonperishable foods, clothing, toiletries and hygiene products.
