St. Leo Parish Farmer's Market Benefits Stephen Center
(This note by Fr. Harry Buse is from the St. Leo Parish Bulletin)
The 3rd Annual St. Leo Farmers Market on Saturday, September 6th was a huge success. This week I forwarded a check for $3,400 to the Stephen Center for women and families in South Omaha. This represents the proceeds from the Farmers Market, as well as about $200 in donations on prior weekends. I would like to thank the many parishioners who contributed baked goods, garden produce, crafts and hours of time to support the effort.
I would like to acknowledge in particular the following patrons from outside St. Leo Parish:
American National Bank
Bag N Save
Gerald & Sharon Clinch of Norfolk, NE
Fr. Tim Forget, St. Cyril & Methodius Parish, Clarkson, NE
Menards of Columbus, NE
Bernie & Pat Kobza of St. Pius X Parish
Bill & Gertrude Burmester of St. Pius X Parish
My-T Mart, 108th & Blondo
Fr. Val Peter & the Boystown Garden
Wenninghoff Farms
Tomato, Tomato at 156th & West Center Road
Special recognition to the St. Leo Knights of Columbus and the
Prairie Rose Ensemble
The entire event was a wonderful, social experience for the parish, as well as an opportunity to support some of the less fortunate members of our community.
