The Stephen Center hosted its second annual golf outing on Monday, August 10th at Champions Run. The tournament was held at a new site this year, Champions Run – Home of the Nationwide Tour. Tournament Director, Cindy Oelke said “We were very excited to hold our tournament at Champions Run. Many of the guests commented on the excellent service and course grounds.” While no one won the 2010 Mazda 3, the golfers still had a great time. The first flight winners were infoGroup and Creighton University won the 2nd flight. Proceeds from the golf outing and raffle go to support the Stephen Center’s three programs: Emergency Shelter, HERO Program – a state-licensed substance abuse program that serves those with a co-occurring mental illness and the Transitional Living Program.
Stephen Center, Inc. has served the homeless and low-income men, women and children in Omaha since 1984. Stephen Center is the only “dry” emergency shelter in Omaha, focusing on assisting those who have made a commitment to overcome the life destroying effects of drugs and alcohol. Stephen Center operates three distinct programs: Stephen Center Emergency Shelter, Stephen Center HERO Program and Stephen Center Transitional Living Program.
