STEPHEN CENTER RECEIVES AMBASSADOR OF CARING AWARD
Equitable Life and Casualty, a Salt Lake City-based insurance company is awarding Stephen Center, Inc of Omaha, Nebraska the “Ambassador of Caring Award”. Local agent, Jim Gray nominated Stephen Center for the award. The presentation will take place at 10:00 a.m. at Stephen Center, located at 2723 Q Street, on Monday, February 2, 2009.
“An Ambassador of Caring is a very special person or organization – one where people give of themselves, but they do it in such a way that it is not charity work,” said Rod Ross, Chairman and CEO of Equitable Life and Casualty. “It’s taking the time and effort to teach others how they can help themselves.”
“The strength of the Ambassadors Of Caring Award is that this person or organization not only cares, has a heart of gold and gives of themselves, but does so in a way that the individual, the community, whoever it might be, is able to learn from that connection and be a better person.”
Del Bomberger, Executive Director at Stephen Center stated “We are honored to receive this award. Our mission is to partner with the community, families and individuals to overcome homelessness, addiction and poverty. It is rewarding to know that those in the community recognize that we are here to help those in need.”
In addition to the award, the Stephen Center will also receive a check for $2000.00. Equitable will also interview a few clients and staff to really bring the story home to their employees. The story will appear on the Equitable website, www.equilife.com and two of their internal websites, www.goodtube.org and profilesincaring.org.
