The HERO Program is a state-licensed substance abuse treatment center, housed in the newly built John L. Hoich Center for Recovery on the Stephen Center Campus.
The HERO Program is extremely affordable, making access to the treatment available to a wide variety of men and women. The evidence-based twelve-step supported program provides a wide array of treatment opportunities that go far beyond simple 28-day programs. Clients have the opportunity to remain in the program for as long as necessary while regaining employment, re-establishing family relationships, and preparing themselves for lifetimes of sobriety and drug-free success.

The program recognizes the need for and provides treatment options for those with a co-occuring mental illness as well. HERO Program staff work closely with families, drug courts, and other professionals providing additional services to clients.

Stephen Center, Inc awarded three-year CARF accreditation
CARF International announced that Stephen Center, Inc. has been accredited for a period of three years for all three of its HERO Programs: Residential Treatment, Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient treatment. This is the first accreditation that the International accrediting body has awarded to Stephen Center, Inc.
This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization's substantial conformance to CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.
CEO Del Bomberger stated "This accreditation shows that it is possible for an organization to provide professional level and internationally acclaimed services to homeless and low-income men and women". Stephen Center believe in providing tier one “best practice” professional services to the homeless, addicted and poor who are the focus of our mission.
